You're driving your good old -but not so reliable car- when you reach a town you never heard of... No time to go around!
You forgot your GPS and phone but the sign at the city limits shows you just need to cross it from South to North, easy!
Little did you know that finding your way in this town wasn't straightforward. You will meet a range of colorful characters during you journey; some of them clearly trying to take advantage of you...
Drive through each crossroads while managing your fuel, money, car repairs and natural needs as well as escaping from thieves!
Hopefully, you will find your way and escape this Mad City!

"We are pleased to have you join our crew of successful taxi drivers in Mad City. Your job is simple, pick-up customers and drive them to their destinations while maintaining your car in good condition."
That's the Job Description you decided to candidate for. Guess what? You got the job! But, let's face it, you know things are never that easy in Mad City...
A new Taxi mode
In addition to the already available Classic mode, the Taxi mode is a pure high-score mode where your goal is to drive as many customers to their destination as possible, scoring points for each successful course. The further the destination, the more points! Of course, you still need to refill and fix your car but you need to use the money earned from your completed courses to do so... Honestly, taking this job at this company may not have been the brightest idea... Obviously, you can check your Statistics for the Taxi Mode separately from the Classic Mode, and a specific How To Play was also added.
Controls
There is a tutorial within the game, but controls are straightforward using the Playdate buttons!
About the game
Mad City is easy to pick-up and play short sessions. Some will be fairly short, others will be longer. In any case, do you think you will find all the different endings?

Are you doing an update with different backgrounds? It seems to use the same background throughout. I am quite intrigued though.
It does use the same background throughout indeed. This is to reinforce the impression that nothing changes and increase the feeling of being lost in this city. Always happy to get feedback or new ideas though!
I would prefer varied backgrounds to avoid monotony. However if that’s your intended design choice, I respect that.
Picked this up from the advent calendar and finding it a fun little game for a really quick gaming session. Love the music, but finding banks hard to find for some reason. Is the map generated randomly each play?

The map is indeed randomly generated and each game will be different. The number of banks is similar to the other building though.
At the end of each game, you can check the map and highlight where each specific building was by pressing the appropriate button. It can show you if you kept missing a specific building!
My recommendation is to stop at a bank whenever you can!
